Ghosts in the Oaks

Jeff took Cassidy to Ghosts in the Oaks one night while I had other plans.  They had a fabulous date!
He took some pictures with his phone, so they're a bit fuzzy.  She wore her Tigger costume and he went as Winnie the Pooh. (pictures to come in the halloween post!)

Taylor, one of Cassidy's classmates was there too.
They stood in line together and rode some of the amusement
park rides together!

Bluejack Ridge Ranch

We found out about this fall festival at Bluejack Ridge Ranch in our NOLA Baby magazine and took a ride up to Poplarville, Mississippi to check it out.  It was awesome!  They put on a different themed festival every fall, complete with a pumpkin patch for picking your own pumpkins.  Cassidy had a blast!

We purchased a "stampede ticket" for her which allowed her to participate in all the activities.  There were a couple she was too small for, and a couple she wasn't interested in, but she got our money's worth on the pony rides alone!

The pony rides were her favorite, by far!  After some initial hesitation
when I asked her if she wanted to ride,  all fear was left behind as soon
as she saw another kid riding.

Pig race.

(I wish I could figure out how to rotate videos.)

We had a beautiful day and a nice sunny ride up to Poplarville.  Cassidy is still (I'm actually posting in November) talking about the festival where she rode the ponies.
We'll be making the drive again next year, no doubt about it!

Happy Birthday Cassidy!

Cassidy is 3 years old!
Can you believe it?  I certainly can't.

We had a little surprise party for her, keeping it small with just Mommy, Daddy, Nana, and Papa.  Next year we're planning to have a party somewhere, maybe a bounce house or the zoo, and invite her classmates.
While Nana and Papa took Cassidy to the library and breakfast, Daddy and I decorated with balloons, streamers, and Dora decorations.
Cassidy was a bit overwhelmed when she first walked in, but quickly turned into all smiles as she saw the Dora decorations and the presents.

We had a Dora cake and cupcakes!

For her birthday, Cassidy got a train (which unfortunately didn't work and had to be returned), a Vtech V Reader (which as it turns out seems to have a broken SD drive, so it, too, will need to be exchanged), clothes, a baby doll, and an Artist easel with various art supplies.

A surprise package also arrived in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa with some new books!  Cassidy's new favorite is an animal alphabet book which we read every night and morning which came with a poster which we hung up on her bedroom wall.
