After 10 years with my truck, and about two years of looking and debating, I've finally done it.

I bought a new car.

It's a 5 door Mazda 3, with automatic transmission ... quite a difference from my Xterra with manual transmission and four wheel drive. We've been really happy with Jeff's Mazda 6 that he bought in 2005, and I'd been eyeing up the 5 door wagons. I decided on the Mazda 3 after test driving the Honda Fit (which was really putsy though I really liked the interior) and the Toyota Matrix (which had good amount of power, but I just plain hated the way it handled).

So far I love it, though the car seat is a tight squeeze in the back with the front seats where I like them. I don't miss the manual transmission at all, especially in traffic.
