which reminds me....with all of the reading I have done with Freddie's sleep aversion, I've read often how babies experience a sleep regression with the onset of new skills, so perhaps walking is on the horizon and the brain just can't focus on sleep right now.
e- We do the cry it out thing for 10 minutes at a time. If she sounds like she's winding down, we might let her go another 5 minutes. This is what daycare does, so we adapted to their plan so that Cassidy would have some consistency in what was going on. Plus I really didn't know how long to let her cry otherwise. At nap time, she usually falls asleep after 7 minutes. At night time, we will let her fuss for maybe 5-10 minutes if it sounds like she might go back to sleep. Sometimes we can just tell by the cry that she's not going to soothe herself.
e- I have also heard about the not sleeping thing before major milestones, and we did see a change in her sleeping pattern right before she started crawling. So I think you may be right that she might start walking soon. Just a guessing game though... that's the hardest part. If only they could just tell you what they want!
I thought she was the sleeping champ? Never went back to it after g-ma and g-pa visit?
ReplyDeleteOh, now I see the post below... got it.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever let her "cry it out"? I am very curious about that and it working or not...and how long parents let their babes cry.
