Painting with a Twist

Two weeks ago, the girls and I went to "Painting with a Twist" in Hammond to paint our own masterpieces! You start with a canvas with an outline drawn on it and an instructor shows you step by step what to paint. She then walks around to give everyone suggestions and answer questions while you are painting. Everyone chooses how closely to follow the instructions and color suggestions given by the instructor, so the paintings can either look very similar, or completely different.

This was my first time painting in a long time ... I guess since I finished my hibiscus painting for our kitchen. It renewed my excitement for painting, and painting with acrylics (so easy to clean up!) so I'm planning to start on my next large canvas sometime very soon.

  1. Yay for blog posts. And you're tracking your steps? Is it associated with a weight loss goal, r just more for awareness? I need to get back to exercise. STAT!

Oh, there is a Corks and Canvas by our "old" house on Magazine Street that always seems to have a group.

  2. I'm tracking my steps to try to be more aware of my activity level, and also hoping that being more active will help me lose the annoying 5-10lbs that have crept back on after my initial weight loss post pregnancy. I'm right where I was when I got pregnant, but I'd like to be 5-10lbs less.
